New Zealand First leader Winston Peters on Sunday explicitly affirmed that it was appropriate to compare co-governance to Nazi Germany.
Despite claims since that "there was no mention of co-governance", Peters in his State of the Nation address specifically referred to the "insidious creep of racist co-governance". In comments afterwards, he went on to make similarities between someone's DNA making them superior and Nazi Germany.
Newshub asked him at a subsequent media conference whether it was appropriate to make a comparison between co-governance and Nazi Germany, to which he replied: "Yes, it is".
