Simeon Brown took a jab at Willie Jackon on AM on Friday during a heated conversation about the Government's recent Cabinet reshuffle.
The Ministers were discussing Melissa Lee being booted from Cabinet at the time. Lee was removed as Media and Communications Minister on Wednesday. Her role was given to Paul Goldsmith in a reshuffle Christopher Luxon said was because the portfolio had become more complex.
Penny Simmonds was also taken out of the Minister for Disability Issues role in the reshuffle.
The changes came after both Simmonds and Lee faced intense criticism over their response to issues in their respective portfolios.
Despite repeatedly calling Lee "stupid", "useless" and "incompetent" over the past weeks, Jackson hit out at National saying they didn't support her enough and she was "absolutely qualified" for the role.
Simeon Brown tried to respond to the accusation, but Jackson kept jumping in prompting AM co-host Lloyd Burr to say, "You've talked enough Willie and this is my show".
Brown then jumped in adding, "Probably the only thing he's good at is talking a lot".
Burr then moved the conversation to whether Lee was actually good in Cabinet, to which Brown said "Absolutely".
But the jabs didn't stop there. Less than five minutes later Brown made the same jab again which this time elicited an "Oh come on," from Jackson.
But Jackson got some jabs in of his own, calling 33-year-old Brown a "kid" and joking about his age.
"Simeon should know this even though he's only about 18. He's only a young fulla, the kid might not remember," he said.
"He's a good kid though," Jackson added.
