Brody Cameron, the son of ACT MP Mark Cameron, has died.

Cameron, a list MP based in the Northland electorate who entered Parliament after the 2020 election, wrote a heartbreaking tribute to his son on Facebook.

"Good speed my Son, my boy," he wrote.

"I love you always, Dad. RIP."

Cameron shared two photos of his son playing rugby.

Several of Cameron's colleagues paid tribute to Brody, including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

"On behalf of the National Party, I offer our deepest condolences to you, Mark. I know the thoughts and prayers of the whole Parliament are with your family right now too," Luxon said.

"Take care my friend our thoughts and prayers are with you," Children's Minister Karen Chhour wrote.

"Biggest hugs Mark, Jodi and whanau. We have your back," said ACT MP Laura Trask. "Anything you need, anytime."

Cameron is ACT's spokesperson for fisheries, forestry, rural communities, hunting and fishing, defence, veterans, and agriculture.
