The Government has "failed to deliver on the promises it has made to New Zealanders", according to Labour leader Chris Hipkins.
His comments come after Finance Minister Nicola Willis' unveiled the 2024 Budget in the House on Thursday.
Following Willis' speech, Hipkins' responded by outlining the Opposition's thoughts on the Budget, which was the Coalition Government's first since it took power last year.
Hipkins said the Government is "taking New Zealand backwards" and is prioritising landlords over "hard-working Kiwis".
"This Budget fails at the first hurdle. $10 billion worth of tax cuts, $12 billion worth of borrowing," he told the House.
"You don't need an abacus to figure out that this is a Government borrowing to pay for tax cuts."
In the Budget, Willis announced big changes to the funding of health, education, and law and order. Tax cuts will also be introduced in the form of adjusted tax thresholds from July 31.
