OPINION: One of the great all black victories has just unfolded at Stade de France, 28-24 over world No.1 Ireland in the quarter-final to book a spot in the World Cup semis against Los Pumas.
This was the All Blacks at their very best. They were composed, they were calm, they were disciplined... they were good with ball in hand.
They were everything that Ireland have been throughout this World Cup.
Importantly, they started well. Two quick penalties and then a try really put the pressure on Ireland to try and find a way back into this contest.
That was crucial for the All Blacks.
Sam Cane and Ardie Savea had two of their best performances in recent memory. Jordie Barrett, one of his best performances in the All Blacks.
You could name a plethora of players who stood out tonight, but the key thing is they got a win.
They need to play like that, they need to continue playing like that, because the Pumas will present a different challenge in the semi final - but they are there.
They came in as the underdogs. No-one expected them to win, everyone was talking about Ireland, but they have closed the book on the Irish fairytale.
Next up, Stade de France against Argentina in a World Cup semi-final.
