A group of farmers visiting New Zealand from the United Kingdom have been impressed with the 'can do' attitude of Kiwi farmers.
Fifteen farmers have been travelling around New Zealand on a farm tour after they won the study trip
The trip comes at an important time, ahead of Brexit, and whatever it might hold for the UK and their farmers.
It also comes just ahead of a new cereal fungicide that agricultural supplies company BASF is launching next year, an important addition for UK farmers that is already assisting with disease control in wheat crops and barley in New Zealand.
Ollie Blackburn from Dillington Farm & Estate, one of the farmers here on tour, told Rural Exchange that one of the biggest things he's learnt is that 'it's good to have a go'.
"Speaking to the New Zealand growers, you guys are not afraid to have a go, push the boundaries and try something different," he said.
"I'd like to try and lower our seed rate on the wheat , we seed double and a half to what you guys are sowing," said Mr Blackburn.
The group of 15 also got to enjoy New Zealand off the farm, with the Milford Sounds among the highlights.
