'I thought it might have been a joke to start with': Meet Joey, the unicorn sheep

What do you get if you cross a sheep with a unicorn?

An Aussie sheep farmer and stock agent reckons he has the answer - Joey, the sheep which looks like a unicorn.

The sheep was spotted by South Australian farmer and stock agent, Michael Foster who couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"I thought it might have been a joke to start with, I thought it looks like a unicorn," he told Channel 7

While Joey has two horns, one is much larger than the other, which is what makes him stand out from the crowd.

He was destined to become lamb chops, when Elders stock agent Foster spotted him.

So in true Aussie fashion, he handed over two cartons of beer and took him back to his Burra property.

"I have been a stock agent for six years, and it is definately the first time I have come across anything like that," said Foster.

"To the best of our knowledge it is the only one in Australia."

Joey is now enjoying life as a much loved pet and he is already turning heads.

"You get a lot of comments from people driving past, he has become pretty well known around town."

"He runs with the other sheep, it's just funny to see this horn polking out."

Foster now plans to take the sheep to agricultural shows, so he can share some of Joey's unicorn magic with the public.

"We will take him to show and pageants, who knows where we can go, maybe Hollywood?"

"I am sure the kids would get a kick out of patting a real life unicorn. We may even do unicorn rides."
