One person has died in a quad bike crash in Waikato, continuing a horror start to 2020 for farm accidents.
Police said the quad bike rolled on a farm at Wharepuhunga at around 9.15am on Friday.
"The Serious Crash Unit and Worksafe have been notified," police said.
The fatality is the latest in a spate of farm accidents in the past week.
A person died when a side-by-side farm vehicle crashed at Tamahere, near Hamilton, on January 3, while a 19-year old died in a crash on a rural property near Ashburton the following day.
A man died in a quad bike accident in Ohakune in the central North Island on January 6th.
The driver of a tractor was also killed on Thursday near Cromwell after the tractor rolled on the property off State Highway 6 in the Kawarau Gorge.
