A Fonterra milk tanker was allegedly shot at while stopped on the side of the road in Bay of Plenty earlier this week.
"One of our drivers was taking a break on the side of the road on Monday night when it appears the tanker was shot at," Barry McColl, general manager of national transport and logistics at Fonterra told Newshub on Thursday.
The incident took place in Murupara.
"While shaken, our driver did not sustain any physical injuries"
McColl said the driver was being provided with support and was helping police with their enquiries.
Police told Newshub they were notified around 11:30pm on Monday night of a windscreen reportedly damaged by a gunshot on Te Whaiti Rd.
Enquiries to determine the circumstances of the incident were ongoing, a spokesperson said.
