Unless you have the hide of a rhino you will have noticed it's been absolutely freezing the last few days.
A polar blast pelting the North Island is expected to cause temperatures to plummet in many areas and have Aucklanders suffering through their coldest night of the year this weekend.
Metservice meteorologist John Law joined Paul Henry live from Wellington.
"Overnight it got down to -6degC on the Desert Rd and there are more cold nights to come for the weekend. Nice blue skies and sunshine but overnight, those clear skies and light winds mean the temperature just drops away."
