The 31-man All Black squad was named for the World Cup yesterday, and it contains some pretty new faces, like Waisake Naholo and Nehe Milner-Skudder.
It's exciting maybe, but they came in at the expense of Israel Dagg and also his good mate, Cory Jane. And that is the other side of this good news story.
Jane was perhaps more of an outside chance, but this is effectively the end of his All Blacks career.
He hasn't officially retired, as funny things can happen at World Cups, but he's still gutted, and he told Story about the moment he got the bad news.
