More than 220,000 people have been killed and 10 million others have lost their homes as a result of the Syrian crisis, and there is no end in sight.
Families not long ago lived in homes very similar to ours, their children went to school and their lives were normal.
Now, they live in tents with no running water, little access to food and in constant fear for their lives.
Aid worker Mike Seawright from Relief Aid has been on the ground in Syria and knows first-hand how truly devastating this war is.
He joined Paul Henry on the show this morning.
