Auckland mayoral candidate Mark Thomas has his sights set on what he calls an "asset swap".
If elected he would like to sell Auckland Council's shares in the Auckland International Airport to fund infrastructure projects needed to cope with the city's growth.
Mr Thomas joined Paul Henry to discuss the plan.
