He's the man who bought the first news bulletin to life on TV3, 30 years ago alongside Greg Clark on sport and Belinda Todd on weather.
He stands as one of New Zealand's longest-serving newsreaders for not just 3 News but other new outlets as well... including his time in radio.
And now his granddaughter, who works in our newsroom, is also following in his footsteps.
