Before Everest tells the story of Earle Riddiford, a mountaineer who introduced Sir Edmund Hillary to the Himalayas.
Years on from the great ascent, Sir Edmund shunned Earle saying he would never trust him at the end of a rope, which sparked a 15-year search for answers by Earle's son Richard Riddiford.
