It's the 1st of December and that means Christmas trees are popping up, festive songs are streaming in the shops and one more thing... it's the first day of Summer!
December 1st is the official start of summer in New Zealand and Australia – it’s called the meteorological start to the season and the first of the month is chosen to make record keeping simple and easy and clean.
But, typically the really warm weather comes a bit later in the season, so should we be delaying our breaks until the heat is on?
