Aussie rules football star Adam Goodes won't play for the Sydney Swans this weekend, as the controversy surrounding what he believes is racial abuse from fans escalates.
The two-time AFL winner is on indefinite leave, and has the support from other indigenous Australian athletes such as Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis, as reports emerge the 35-year-old is considering hanging up his boots for good.
The issue started when Goodes pointed out a 13-year-old fan who called him an "ape" in 2013 and it has escalated since then, becoming too much for him.
