Legendary Australian Boxer Jeff Fenech hopes his protege Bowie Tupou can spring a surprise on Joseph Parker in Invercargill this Saturday.
Tupou has struggled in recent form, losing two of his last five matches, but Fenech believes the 32-year-old is like a different man after training.
"The preparation has been good, it was brought on us a little early, but we've had a good eight weeks and he's lost over 25 pounds in the time we've been training," said Fenech.
"He looks like a different person from when he was here a few months ago. He looks much younger, he's trained hard and I'm very proud of him."
Fenech said he hopes that Tupou can bring something different to the ring that Parker hasn't fought before.
"We would like to take Joseph somewhere he hasn't been before. We've been working hard on Bowie's fitness and being a little more rugged than he usually is and hopefully we can put a lot more pressure on Joseph.
"If Bowie can dominate early and show Joseph something he hasn't been shown before that means a lot of power and hitting him early, then that might change Joseph's mindset and make him fight out."
