Late bloomer James Broadhurst is ready for the next step in his rugby career, when he lines up for the All Blacks against South Africa at Ellis Park on Sunday (NZT) morning.

The 27-year-old has toiled away in Super Rugby until his break-out season with the Hurricanes and insists he is ready to make the jump to Test rugby.

"I haven't played a Test before so I don't really know what to expect, but I know it's going to be a jump up from what I've faced before," said Broadhurst.

"It's going to be a sterner test than the Bulls at Loftus, which is pretty tough. I'm just excited at what is to come."

Broadhurst is part of three changes to the pack along with Liam Messam and his Hurricanes teammate Dane Coles, who spoke highly of the big lock.

"It's just awesome to see because we've played a lot together, we played under 21's together," said Coles.

"We've come quite close and just to see [Broadhurst] reach his full potential and get a crack at the All Blacks is awesome to see."

Meanwhile there are four newcomers to the backline that played Argentina, with Aaron, Ben, and Conrad Smith as well as debutant Lima Sopoaga included.
