Former Australia and Queensland rugby league great Billy Moore has come under fire for his 'coconut style' remark.
The NRL 360 pundit was asked how the Warriors would cope without the injured Shaun Johnson, but his response rose more than a few eyebrows.
"They play that coconut style, Polynesian sort of football…throwing it around," Moore said on the Warriors.
The former State of Origin star's remarks caused uproar on social media in a week in which racism was very much in the spotlight in Australia.
Aussie Rules star Adam Goodes won't play for the Sydney Swans this weekend, as the controversy surrounding what he believes is racial abuse from fans escalates.
The two-time AFL winner is on indefinite leave, and has the support from other indigenous Australian athletes such as Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis.
