While the Warriors' season ground to a forgettable finish, the club could still have something to celebrate with their Under-20 team just one win away from the grand final of the National Youth Competition Holden Cup.
Finals success is nothing new to the Junior Warriors, but it is no guarantee of a spot in the NRL side.
The team have come from seventh to within a game of their fifth grand finals, after beating the Junior Broncos 45-10 on the weekend.
But the reality of age group football is that there is a limited time to shine.
The win would not just be the end of an era, but in most cases the end of a Warrior's career. Of 170 Juniors, only 36 have gone on to play for the Warriors.
