Tottenham Hotspur pummelled Manchester City 4-1 to condemn Manuel Pellegrini's team to a third defeat in four games and take them off the Premier League summit.
City took a 25th-minute lead at White Hart Lane through Kevin De Bruyne, but Eric Dier drove home an equaliser on the stroke of half-time before Toby Alderweireld's header early in the first half put the hosts in front.
Harry Kane claimed his first club goal of the season and Erik Lamela added a fourth for Spurs as Mauricio Pochettino's side followed Juventus and West Ham United in inflicting defeat on the season's early pace-setters.
While Spurs climb to fifth, City have now conceded first place to local rivals Manchester United after Louis van Gaal's side prevailed 3-0 at home to Sunderland.
