It's been a long time between drinks for Todd Astle, it's four years since the leg spinner made his one - and only - international appearance in a Test win over Sri Lanka

But strong form on the domestic scene's seen him don the national colours again

While he's itching for a chance, he might hope it doesn't come tomorrow on Eden Park's tiny boundaries

Astle's faced a few challenges in recent years as he toiled away in domestic cricket, but the 29-year-old credits a key change to his game that's helped him earn a national recall

He's replaced Ish Sodhi in the squad to face Pakistan, the pair now essentially competing for one spot in the squad for the World Twenty20, as Sodhi struggles for consistency.

The Black Caps will take at least 3 spinners to India, and with Mitch Santner shaping as the only guaranteed selection at this stage, the Pakistan side have sensed the uncertainty and have highlighted it as a weak spot.
