NBA players and critics are running out of superlatives to describe the incredible performances of Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry.

In the wake of his record-breaking display against Steven Adams and the Oklahoma City Thunder, which included a match-clinching three-pointer that defies belief, some are now asking whether Curry can be the greatest ever.

"All-Star weekend in Toronto, Steph Curry, he says "Kevin, come here". He lifts up his arm, the man had mechanical s*** in his arm. Wires & s***, he's a robot. He not real," actor Kevin Hart said in an Instagram post.

It's a fair claim -- not just because of his game-winner against the Thunder, but the eleven like it that came before which saw him tie the all-time record for the most three-pointers in an NBA game.

On a night that saw him equal one record, he broke another that happened to be his own.

For the third time in four years, Curry set a new mark for the most three-pointers in a regular season with a staggering 24 games to go.

It's left fellow NBA stars falling over themselves to praise his unstoppable scoring.

But even more impressive, suggestions from all-time greats like Magic Johnson that Curry could become the greatest the game has ever seen.

Those comments came timely off the back of claims from hall of famers that Curry wouldn't have been as successful had he been forced to compete with the physical players of days gone by.

Curry's coach, Steve Kerr, was a long-time Chicago Bulls teammate of Michael Jordan who won six championships.

With just one NBA title so far, Curry has a long way to go but he's already proven he can go the distance.
