A Valencia youngster might just take the cake for best dive ever on a football pitch.
During an under-19 UEFA Youth League clash between Celtic and Valencia, David Pascual found himself through on goal when the ball bounced away from him.
Instead of trying to step out and control the ball, Pascual opted for the dive, flailing himself to the floor in an attempt to con the referee.
Celtic defender Jack Aitchison was the nearest opposition player at the time, and it's cutting it fine by saying he was anywhere close to Pascual.
The decision left Celtic players and coaching staff perplexed and no doubt frustrated.
Ultimately, nothing came from the resulting free-kick, but the Scottish side would go on to lose on spot-kicks.
In situations like this you would say the youngsters were taught a harsh lesson, but this takes it to another level.
