While the Black Caps acquitted themselves admirably at the T20 World Cup in India, the influence of Black Caps coach Mike Hesson also did not go unnoticed.

Hesson confirmed to Newshub that he has received interest from certain franchises within the lucrative Indian Premier League, the world's foremost T20 cricket competition.

"Yes, I have [had interest from IPL franchises]," the 41-year-old says.

Hesson has often alluded to the demands that life as an international cricket coach placed on himself and his young family, pressures to which former Black Caps bowling coach Shane Bond eventually succumbed in opting to join the IPL's Mumbai Indians following last year's World Cup.

"It's tough. The time away with a young family is always challenging and it's something you have to keep reviewing."

"I fully respect Shane's decision because it's incredibly tough and we're all at different stages of our lives."

Hesson is contracted with New Zealand Cricket until July 2017 and was non-committal when questioned as to the appeal the prospect of leading the side to the 2019 World Cup held.

"It's a big pull, but as you said there are always other factors."
