Duco Events will let the public decide the price for Joseph Parker's next fight by listing the remaining 520 public tickets on auction site Trade Me.

The public's interest in Parker's IBF Title Eliminator boxing bout against Carlos Takam will determine the price, with tickets being trickled out from today for the May 21 fight.

The tickets have been released at $1 reserve instead of being sold for the recommended retail price of $299.

Duco Events says the sales model will cut down on ticket scalpers reselling before the bout.

Parker will guarantee himself a world title shot with a win over Takam.

Carlos Takam has promised a war in the boxing ring, saying he hasn't come to New Zealand to lose to local favourite Joseph Parker.

Cameroon-born Takam, 35, has travelled from Paris for the bout and he indicated no lack of motivation on his part.

"It's very, very important for me to win the fight," he said.

"I come here to New Zealand to win; I don't come here to lose. I'm ready for it. I'm going to make war. I want to get the victory."

Parker is undefeated in his professional career, with 16 of his 18 wins being inside the distance.

However, Takam - who has a record of 33 wins (25 by KO), two losses and a draw - will present him with his biggest challenge so far.

Takam's only defeat in the past seven years came 18 months ago against Russian Alexander Povetkin, who himself has had just one loss, by unanimous decision to Ukrainian great Wladimir Klitschko.
