When Newshub Olympics producer Mike McRoberts suggested that one of the team head out for a surf with the three time Olympic medallist my hand shot up faster than Usain Bolt out of the blocks.
To be fair, I'm the only one that actually surfs. He had no choice.
Surfing seems to be more a way of life than a hobby in Rio and every beach is dotted with dozens of surfers doing their thing in the warm, crystal clear water.

Barbara says while she won't be competing when surfing makes its Olympic debut in Tokyo she'd love to be there and hopes to get amongst the waves.
