Usain Bolt has won the gold medal in the 200m with a time of 19.78.

Canada's Andre De Grasse took the silver medal (20.02) and Christophe Lamaitre of France claimed bronze.

Lamitre and Great Britain sprinter Adam Gemili both clocked a time of 20.12, but it was the Frenchman who took home the medal in the tightest of finishes to round out the podium.

The victory completes the triple-double for Bolt, who has won the 100m and 200m for the last three Olympics.

Bolt, who turns 30 at the end of the Rio Olympics, is the oldest Olympic gold medallist in the men's 200m.

It's an era of dominance for Bolt, who reiterated after the race that he wouldn't be racing at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The last Olympic champions before Bolt were Justin Gatlin in the 100m and Shawn Crawford in the 200m.
