Former Warriors player and current Fox Sports commentator Greg "Brandy" Alexander believes Kieran Foran's move to the Warriors is the best thing for his career.

Speaking to Andrew Gourdie and James McOnie on RadioLIVE'S Sunday Sport, Alexander labelled Foran's move to the Warriors as a great fit for both parties.

The former halfback/fullback spent two years with the Warriors during the 1995 and 1996 seasons after leaving Australia due to his own personal struggles following the death of his brother, Ben.

Brandy believes his move to New Zealand was perfect for his career and wellbeing and it will have the same impact for Foran.

"I left Australia for different reasons - to get away and start fresh.

"It couldn't have been a better move for me to move to the Warriors for a couple of seasons. I think that will be the same for Kieran and a great fit for the Warriors."

Even though the Warriors have officially announced the Foran deal, it first needs to be cleared by the NRL, but Alexander believes that the deal will be given the green light.

"I can't see why the NRL shouldn't allow it.

"I thought we might have seen the last of Kieran Foran from some of the things I have been reading in the last six months. I wasn't sure Kieran would get himself back on the football field.

"But if he wants to go the Warriors and he is willing [to take] a pay cut from what he was on at the Eels, I've got no problem with it and nobody else should."

Foran has previously played for the Manly Sea Eagles, playing 147 games between 2009 and 2015. Foran also was an NRL title with the Sea Eagles in 2011.

In 2016, Foran joined the Parramatta Eels on a two-year deal, but was limited to nine games due to injury and a number of personal issues.

As a result, Foran was released from his deal and took a break from the sport to get his life sorted.
