Hurricanes CEO confronts scalpers ahead of Super final

The Hurricanes' chief executive has taken upon himself to personally confront scalpers ahead of this weekend's Super Rugby final.

Avan Lee says he's called about five people who bought pre-sale tickets and tried to sell them at a profit, threatening to cancel the tickets unless they were taken down.

One seller from Christchurch appeared to be selling at least 20 tickets across several auctions for the match in Wellington.

"The people we've asked to take the auctions down have done so," says Mr Lee.

"We've given them the chance to pull down the auction and they've done that. But as I've said, there are some more that have appeared today, and we'll work our way through those as well."

Tickets for the match against the Lions on Saturday night sold out less than an hour after going on sale yesterday.
