Video: Grigor Dimitrov consoles crying ball boy

A Bulgarian tennis player showed his softer side during a tense match at the Shanghai Rolex Masters when he stopped play to console a tearful young ball boy.

Grigor Dimitrov  was locked in a tight tussle with Canadian Vasek Pospisil when a searing serve from his opponent thudded into the boy's chest, causing the waterworks to flow.

Noticing the ball boy was clearly in pain, the 27-year-old signalled Pospisil to hold off on his next serve attempt while he comforted the boy - even gifting him a sweatband from his wrist in consolation.

Dimitrov would ultimately go on to lose the match, but there's no doubt he won the love of the crowd with his touching gesture.
