Kiwis second-rower Kevin Proctor will suit up in the blue and white in 2017 after signing for the Gold Coast Titans, the club confirmed late Wednesday (NZT).
Proctor, who is currently in camp with the Kiwis for the Four Nations in northern England, will stay with the Titans until at least 2020 after his club Melbourne Storm granted him an early release from the final two years of his contract.
The Te Kuiti-born forward made his NRL debut for the Storm back in 2008, and was a part of the 2012 premiership-winning side.
He told the Titans that he was excited to be taking his family back to the Gold Coast where he grew up, moving there when he was 12 years old.
"This is a great opportunity to return home to the Gold Coast with my young family to be closer to all of our family," Proctor said.
"It has been a long process and I needed to feel comfortable with the decision, as I have had a successful time at the Melbourne Storm and made some great friends, but now I am looking forward to joining Neil [Henry, Titans coach] and the Titans players and contributing to the team's success."
Proctor will seek to fill the void left by the departure of Greg Bird, who will join the Catalan Dragons in the Super League next season.
