Leicester City fought off a determined Sevilla to record a 2-0 home victory and reach the Champions League quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate, while Juventus beat Porto 1-0 to qualify for the final eight.
Leicester captain Wes Morgan bundled home Riyad Mahrez's free-kick at the back post in the 27th minute to send the Foxes ahead at on Tuesday (Wednesday NZT), before Mark Albrighton stunned the visitors by adding the second with a crisp left-foot strike from the edge of the box in the 54th minute, against the run of play.
Samir Nasri was sent off for a headbutt on Jamie Vardy, with both players receiving a yellow card for the incident before Kasper Schmeichel upended Vitolo in the area and then saved Steven N'Zonzi's weak penalty.
Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli was sent to the stands for complaining in the closing stages of a game that his team dominated - in terms of possession.
"Incredible. I can't quite believe it," Morgan, the first Jamaican to scored a goal in the competition's history, said.
" We are newcomers in the Champions League, didn't expect to get this far and here we are."
Asked if it was one of the greatest night's in the club's history, Morgan replied: "It must be, I'm not sure if it will happen again but we did it.
"We proved a lot of people wrong and pulled off the impossible again.
"We will take whoever comes. It is a fantastic night for Leicester.
"We still need to concentrate on the league but we will enjoy this moment."
Leicester, last season's miracle champions of England, came into the game with a lifeline after Vardy's goal in the south of Spain, which was former manager Claudio Ranieri's last game before he was sacked.
He was replaced by former assistant Craig Shakespeare who has led the team to three consecutive victories, restoring the players' confidence and style.
Nasri set Sevilla back when he was dismissed for his second yellow card after scrapping with Vardy, before N'Zonzi blew his team's best chance of the night from the spot, with a tame penalty that Schmeichel kept out easily, low to his left.
"We had a chance to equalise but we didn't take it and we paid the price," Sevilla skipper Vicente Iborra said.
"We have to lift ourselves up, work hard and show that we are a team that deserves respect, if this team has been together in the good times we have to be together in the bad ones too."
In Turin, Paulo Dybala's 42nd minute penalty put the tie beyond the reach of Porto, taking the aggregate score to 3-0 in favour of Juventus.
Maxi Pereira was sent off for handling Gonzalo Higuain's strike and Dybala sent Iker Casillas the wrong way from the spot.
Porto's Francisco Soares and Diogo Jota spurned chances to equalise on the night but the Bianconeri proved too good.
After the match, Juve captain Gianluigi Buffon picked out Leicester as the most dangerous team in Friday's quarter-finals draw in Nyon.
"I want to avoid Leicester," the veteran goalkeeper said. "They have enthusiasm and passion but also the weapons to hurt a side that wants to take the initiative."
On Wednesday (Thursday NZT), Manchester City will travel to Monaco with a 5-3 first-leg lead while Atletico Madrid host Bayer Leverkusen with a 4-2 advantage as they bid to join Leicester, Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the last eight.
