All Blacks' fullback Israel Dagg is on track to take on the Lions in June, despite a longer than expected recovery from knee surgery.

The 28-year-old injured his knee in the Crusaders round three comeback win over the Reds and it looked like it would be someway back for Dagg after having to undergo surgery.

However, on Tuesday morning, Dagg tweeted a fan that all was going well and that he'd be back on the field in two weeks' time.

"Hopefully 2 weeks all going well", said Dagg.

The unbeaten Crusaders are currently on tour in South Africa where they'll take on the Cheetahs this weekend followed by the Bulls next weekend.

They'll then return home for the highly anticipated match against the Hurricanes.

If Dagg does return in a fortnight, he'll get at least five matches to get back up to speed before the first Test between the All Blacks and Lions.
