Jessica Manchester may sit next to our Olympic champions Sarah Ulmer and Sarah Walker in a few years' time.
The 17-year-old mountain biker has already risen to second in the world junior women's cross country rankings, and she is well on her way to leave her mark on the senior ranks.
She was selected to represent New Zealand at the UCI World Mountain Biking Champs in September.
"I got an email from Cycling New Zealand saying, 'Congratulations, you have been selected for World Champs.'
"I couldn't believe it. I was in Italy at the time and I was literally jumping around the room."
It has given the prospect the chance to qualify for next year's Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
The ultimate goal to is qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
