Rookie NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson has donated his first professional pay check to a trio of team cafeteria workers, whose lives were turned upside down by the recent flooding from Hurricane Harvey.
The Houston Texans playmaker delivered three envelopes to the women, explaining the purpose for his visit.
Watson told them it was his way of showing how much he respected the time and effort they were putting in, despite their individual tragedies.
"For what y'all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate y'all," he said.
"So I wanted to give my first game check to y'all, to help y'all out in some type of way. Hopefully, that's good to help y'all get back on your feet and anything else you all need, I'm always here to help."
With a base salary of US$465,000, Watson's generous gesture equates to US$27,352, so the hard-working co-workers receive more than US$9,000 each.
Generous, indeed, considering the rising star had only known them for a few months.
