The All Blacks are undefeated in 24 previous encounters with the Pumas and have won 22 on the bounce since a 21-all draw in Buenos Aires in 1985.

This will be the All Blacks 14th time hosting Argentina, with their last 13 such clashes ending in 13 wins by an average margin of 36 points.

Argentina earned three wins in New Zealand at the 2011 World Cup, beating Georgia, Scotland and Romania there.

This will be the first Test played at Yarrow Stadium since New Zealand defeated France there 24-9 in June 2013; the All Blacks average 64 points scored per game from their three previous appearances at the venue.

Los Pumas have lost their last four games away from home, the last time they lost more on the road was a five-game drought in 2013.

Argentina have been outscored 180-142 from five games in 2017 thus far, the only other time since 2000 that they have ended a calendar year with a negative points differential was in 2013 (-58).

Argentina are the only team this tournament to have lost more than one lineout on their own throw (lost 3).

Rieko Ioane leads the tournament in tries (3), clean breaks (8), and defenders beaten (13) thus far, while only Israel Folau (255m) has gained more metres than the All Blacks flyer (254m).

Pre-match banter: Juan Manuel Leguizamon insists Argentina must play a 'perfect game' against the All Blacks

Argentina loose forward Juan Manuel Leguizamon knows his team must play a "perfect game" if they are to beat the All Blacks for the first time on Saturday night.

In 24 Test matches between the two nations, the All Blacks have won 23 of them with the other being a 21-21 draw back in 1985.

Leguizamon has featured in 10 of those Tests since making his international debut back in 2005.

The hard-working 34-year-old knows it is always tough playing the world champions, but he has faith in the Pumas that they can claim a famous win in New Plymouth.

"We know we must play a perfect game to have our chance. Otherwise, it's going to be very, very difficult and we know that," Leguizamon told reporters.

"We are trying to have a perfect week and a perfect game. We know it's hard but we believe in our weapons and we trust in that.

"We must be focused for 80, 82 or 84 minutes when we play against the All Blacks and be preparing in our heads to play that game.

"It's the most important game you play in your career, so we must prepare in our heads for that."

After losing their first two games of the Rugby Championship against South Africa, Argentina knows they have to improve aspects of their game if they are going to topple the All Blacks for the first time

The main aspect is defence after the Pumas conceded 78 points in those two games.

"We need a better defence definitely."

"We defended quite well in the first game in South Africa, but we defended for a lot of time.

"We need to mix good defence with good attack. It's a pretty easy answer but it's very hard to do it.

"A perfect game of rugby means perfect defence and pretty effective attack."

Leguizamon said his side are not reading too much into the Lions series and the first two All Blacks Tests' against the Wallabies last month, despite both teams exposing New Zealand during phases of the game.

"Every game is different. We know the All Blacks and how they play.

"We don't think about the past, we just think about the next game. Australia played well last week but the All Blacks are still winning."

"They have still been the best. In their last game even if they weren't winning the whole game, they still did some pretty amazing things.

"I think they're still playing very, very well."

Both the All Blacks and Argentina will name their squads for Saturday's clash on Thursday.
