All Whites defender Andrew Durante will miss New Zealand's World Cup playoff against Peru due to injury.
The 35-year-old was diagnosed on Thursday with a groin adductor strain, which he picked up late in Wellington Phoenix's 3-2 loss against Sydney FC on the weekend.
It is expected Durante will miss 8-12 weeks with the injury, which means he will play no part in the two-legged qualifier against Peru on November 11 in Wellington and November 16 (NZ time) in Lima.
Peru are currently ranked 10th in the World Rankings, their highest ever ranking, while the All Whites currently sit 122.
The All Whites are looking to qualify for their third FIFA World Cup, while Peru are looking to qualify for their first since 1982.
