Sydney Roosters centre Latrell Mitchell has added his name to the unwanted list of worst kicks at goal of all-time after a costly miss against the Melbourne Storm.
With the scores locked at 8-8 with 12 minutes remaining, Mitchell had a chance to put the Roosters in the lead with a penalty goal right in front of the posts.
The 21-year-old, who has an 82 percent conversion rate, stuck the ball, but it deflected off the right hand upright and back into the field of play, leaving the 17,728-strong crowd at Adelaide Oval stunned.
The miss proved costly, and Storm legend Cameron Smith kicked the match-winning field goal in the 79th minute to secure a 9-8 win over the tri-colours.
