Opinion: All Blacks vs France player ratings

How did your favourite player rate in the All Blacks' 49-14 win in the third and final test against France in Dunedin?

11. Rieko Ioane - 10
Was simply dynamic last night. His turn of pace is electrifying.

As good a test as a winger can have. On his way to greatness.

5. Scott Barrett - 9
Superb match from the Crusaders lock forward. Undoubtedly his coming of age as a test player, Barrett has been outstanding in the series.

He's not at Brodie Rettalick level yet, but a more-than-adequate replacement.

20. Matt Todd - 9
Simply superb from Todd. His breakdown work is unmatched by any in the country.

Doesn’t get a fair crack, in my opinion, but has never let the jersey down. Sam Cane has a mortgage on the number seven jersey, but Todd is just as good... if not better.

12. Sonny Bill Williams - 8
Was potentially on his way to a man-of-the-match performance. Was involved in several attacking raids and his offload game was vintage.

Possibly his best 60 minutes in the All Blacks jersey.

10. Damian Mckenzie - 8
Was more diamonds than rocks, but had a few hairy moments. Having said that, he was far more effective than Beauden Barrett was in Auckland.

His combination with SBW created havoc for the French.

15. Ben Smith - 7
Did everything required of him. Ran a great line for the All Blacks' first try.

Belongs at fullback.

13. Jack Goodhue -7
Looked comfortable the entire 80 minutes. Is the future long-term 13 for the ABs.

9. Aaron Smith -7
Played with more intelligence this week. He seemed in a rush in Wellington.

Helped ease Mckenzie through some awkward moments.

4. Sam Whitelock - 7
Had a great series, probably the All Blacks' most consistent player across all three tests. Was good again last night, stealing lineouts and effective with ball in hand.

Couple of horrible missed tackles, which is unlike Whitelock.

3. Owen Franks - 7
His best test of the series. Scrum was good, aside from the first one.

He was noticeably more involved with ball in hand. He will get better as the season unravels.

18. Ofa Tuungafasi - 7
Was super solid when he arrived with a half hour to play. No-thrills player, who is developing along nicely.

19. Jackson Hemopo - 7
Had two stints and was impressive during both. Assisted Matt Todd's try and went looking for the ball.

Great energy and just adds to the depth pool the ABs have built in this series.

14. Waisake Naholo - 6
Play didn't go his way, but he was solid when called upon in both attack and defence.

8. Luke Whitelock - 6
He was better than in Wellington, but i'm still not sold. He is a brilliant front-on defender, but just doesn't have the physicality or athleticism to make a significant impact at this level.

6. Shannon Frizell - 6
Great effort first up. Will settle at test level, and provide a great backup to Squire and Fifita.

Was bruising on defence.

2. Codie Taylor - 6
Quiet, aside from a couple of runs late in the first half. Two or three lineouts were messy, but overall he was solid.

Had  a great series.

1. Joe Moody - 6
Bounced back well from a poor test last week, but still not at his best. Played the entire 80 minutes.

16. Liam Coltman - 6
Didn’t get much game time, but did all he was asked. Nathan Harris didn’t offer much when given his chance, so Coltman has a real chance to secure the back-up to Taylor, while Dane Coles continues his elongated rehab.

17. Karl Tu’inukuafe - 6
Came on with 12 or so minutes to go and helped demolish another French scrum. Was probably the find of the series, providing great backup to Moody.

A very good scrum exponent.

21. TJ Perenara - 6
Only got 10 minutes this week. Don’t think he would be pleased with his form the last three weeks, when given a run.

22. Richie Mo’unga - 6
Brief taste of test rugby - a lot more to come down the line. I’d be a worried man if I was Beauden Barrett, given the performance of McKenzie and the potential of Mo’unga.

23. Jordie Barrett - 6
Got 20 minutes. The game didn’t really go his way, although he threw an outstanding pass that almost set Naholo free down the right.

Could play a major role off the bench in the Rugby Championship… Ben Smith belongs at fullback.

7. Ardie Savea - No rating
Looked like he was up for a big game. Succumbed to injury inside 15 minutes.
