For the first time in 12 years, no South American teams will contest the Football World Cup semi-finals.
With the departure of Uruguay and Brazil on the first day of quarter-finals in Russia, six teams now remain in contention - none from south of the Equator and all from Europe.
And none are the reigning European champions.
France continued to gather momentum into the final four with their easy win over Uruguay, while Belgium ended the hopes (and theatrics) of five-time champions Brazil to set up a semi-final showdown between continental neighbours.
Meanwhile, the English are well placed on the weaker side of the bracket, facing Sweden and then a possible match-up against Croatia or hosts Russia, who were the lowest-ranked team entered and have defied the odds to get this far.
Their victory over former champions Spain was arguably the biggest upset of the tournament and certainly gave the home crowd something to believe in.
And here's another stat to give the Russians hope - the last five host teams to make the quarter-finals went on to the semis. That's Italy (1990), France (1998), South Korea (2002), Germany (2006) and Brazil (2014).
Here's how the World Cup draw looks for the weekend quarter-finals:
