From the kick-off, the Wallaroos knock on and then regather from an offside position. They're starting to look a little rattled.

Nice interplay between Stacey Waaka, Wickliffe and Selica Winiata down the right side, but it breaks down before they can threaten the try-line.

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to our live updates of the Black Ferns vs Australia, the curtainraiser (dare we say it) to tonight's Bledisloe Cup opener between the All Blacks and Wallabies.

Latest kick-off for that game is 9:45pm (NZ time). This women's contest is due to start at 7:15pm.

Of course, New Zealand are reigning world champions in both sevens and 15s formats of the game, but this Black Ferns side is missing several of the crossover stars that guided them to the longer-form title.

Most notable among those missing are Portia Woodman, Sarah Goss and Kelly Brazier, but coach Glenn Moore is still confident he has the firepower to handle the Aussies.

Traditionally, Australia haven't provided much opposition to our women in the 15s game, but it's probably only a matter of time before they become a threat, as they clearly are in sevens already.

More to come.
