It has been a tough 12 months for All Blacks outside back Nehe Milner-Skudder.
On September 9, 2017, he was preparing for his first test match for New Zealand since the 2015 World Cup final, after overcoming a major shoulder injury and a broken foot.
He scored the opening try in his comeback match against Argentina, which the All Blacks won 39-22 in New Plymouth.
Milner-Skudder played in two more tests, before suffering another serious shoulder injury against South Africa in October, which sidelined him for most of the past Super Rugby season.
The 27-year-old has slowly worked his way back to full fitness and on September 8, 2018, he will don the black jersey for the 12th time against Argentina in Nelson.
Milner-Skudder caught up with Crooked Feed's Ross Karl to talk about what it meant to be back in black and the challenges he faced after being out of the squad for a year.
