WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has apologised to the mascot he brutally KO'd on live TV earlier this month.
The 32-year-old offered the person tickets to his fight with Tyson Fury in December, after allegedly breaking their jaw on Nacion ESPN.
The 'Bronze Bomber' was invited to show off his punching power by hitting the show's mascot, who was wearing a sombrero and moustache.
Wilder threw an aggressive right hook that flattened the mascot in the middle of the studio.
Media outlets claimed the unbeaten heavyweighdidn't realise there was a person inside the costume but he insists that wasn't the case.
"Anything headlining I didn't know a 'human being' was in there is just straight 'click-baiting', like, come on now," Wilder wrote in his post
"I guess the mascot rolled out there. Show so [sic] respect!
"I sincerely apologise to the brave man that was injured [if this is true] I have the up most [sic] high respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.
"If this is true, I personally would like to invite him to my Dec 1 fight. Word is bond."
A win for Wilder would take his impressive career record to 41-0.
