Boxing: Kiwi Heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker wants re-match with Dillian Whyte

Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker has his sights set on a rematch with British slugger Dillian Whyte.

Parker told Helen Yee Sports that he feels there are unanswered questions when it comes to their first fight.

"I feel like Dillian Whyte is a great fighter". Parker said " If everything goes well December 15th then a rematch will be on the table if they [Whyte's camp] want it."

"There will be a lot of improvements going into the rematch if it happened." Parker said.

The former WBO Heavyweight champion was asked about the head-butt which knocked him down in his fight against Whyte; "These things happen in boxing, we trained to fight the first two rounds the whole fight" Parker said.

"Of course the head-butt changed the course of the fight, but that’s the game you're in."

Parker addressed that first they need to prepare for his next fight against American boxer Alexander Flores which will be held at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch.

The kiwi is excited to fight at home for the first time in over 18 months.

He said, "It's always beneficial when you fight at home in front of a home crowd, they give you extra motivation.

"They’ve also been great supporters since day one."
