New Zealand completed an unbeaten opening day at the Netball Fast5 World Series after storming back to beat Australia in Melbourne on Saturday.
After opening the tournament with wins over defending champions England (32-19) and South Africa (39-36), the Fast5 Ferns then ended their day with a come-from-behind win over hosts Australia.
Australia were set for the win, having led for most of the match, but shooter Aliyah Dunn landed a two-point goal with 30 seconds to go to give New Zealand the win 34-32.
Ferns coach Debbie Fuller was pleased with how her side played.
"The great thing was that our full team contributed to the game, and it was nice that we could put the opposition under pressure at the right time," she said.
"We're really rapt after the first day's play. Winning's a great feeling and it gives us confidence to know that what we're doing is on the right track.
"It's also testing our scope, so we know how far people can be extended, what they can do under pressure and this is the best way to find out."
The Ferns have an outstanding record in the shortened version of the game, having won the title on six occasions since the inception of the tournament in 2009.
New Zealand's remaining round games on Sunday are against Jamaica and Malawi. If they win both, they'll play in the grand final set for 8:55pm (NZ time).
