England coach Wayne Bennett has named an experienced 19-man squad to face the New Zealand Kiwis in the first of three tests between the two nations at Hull on Sunday (NZ time).
Bennett has selected 11 of the 17 players that last played against the Kiwis in Denver in June, with former NZ Warriors fullback Sam Tomkins named to play his first test in four years.
If Tomkins plays, he'll likely slot in the halves, with Bennett confirming Jonny Lomax will play fullback in the opening test.
Lomax played at five-eighth in the Denver test, but is excited about playing his preferred position at fullback.
"It's been going pretty well, we looked pretty sharp today," Lomax said of his side's preparations.
"A few combinations to try and improve on, but we have got another session to do that and we're looking forward to it.
"They looked fantastic in that performance [against Australia], and we'll have to raise to that and that is something we'll aim to do.
"They've got threats all over the field and we have to be switched on to that throughout."
NRL players George Burgess andTom Burgess (Rabbitohs), Josh Hodgson and Elliott Whitehead (Raiders), and James Graham (Dragons) have all been included.
The match is the first of three tests, with further games at Liverpool’s Anfield and Elland Road in Leeds.
The full England 19-man squad is:
John Bateman, George Burgess, Tom Burgess, Daryl Clark, Jake Connor, Oliver Gildart, James Graham, Chris Hill, Josh Hodgson, Jonny Lomax, Tommy Makinson, Jermaine McGillvary, Richie Myler, Sean O'Loughlin, Mark Percival, Luke Thompson, Sam Tomkins, Elliott Whitehead, George Williams
