The Oklahoma City Thunder have made it five wins in a row after a 122-116 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in Oklahoma.

Kiwi Steven Adams was excellent for OKC scoring 18 points and earning eight rebounds as the Thunder held off a fast-finishing Pelicans despite the loss of Russell Westbrook.

The former league MVP left early in the second half with a sprained ankle but back-up guard Dennis Schroder stepped up, scoring 22 points.

Six Thunder players ended with double figures including Paul George who has struggled to find his feet this season, but his 23 points is a nice kick-start.

After four losses to start the season, OKC's five wins on the bounce has them back in a playoff position in a jam-packed Western Conference.

Pelicans MVP candidate Anthony Davis had a quiet offensive night scoring just 20 points while former Los Angeles Lakers forward Julies Randle scored 26-points, hitting 10 for 10 from the floor.
