The Black Ferns Sevens team have made the perfect start to the World Rugby Sevens event in Dubai on Friday (NZ time).
The Kiwis ended Day One unbeaten, after taking care of Kenya, Russia and Ireland to top Pool A, and qualify for the quarter-finals in the second tournament of the season.
The Black Ferns won the opening tournament, when they won the Glendale Sevens in the United States last month.
New Zealand started their Dubai day with a convincing 34-7 win over Kenya. Kelly Brazier scored three tries in the win, while Alena Saili, Women's World Sevens Player of the Year Michaela Blyde and captain Sarah Goss also crossed the line.
The Black Ferns were pushed in the second fixture against Russia, before emerging on top 29-12. A first-half brace from Goss helped the Kiwis lead 12-7 at the break.
Gayle Broughton then extended the lead for New Zealand, followed up by a second-half double to Stacey Waaka.
Against Ireland, the Black Ferns trailed 7-0 early, but fought back to win 24-17, scoring four unanswered tries. After Hannah Tyrrell scored for the Irish, Blyde and Broughton both scored tries to help New Zealand lead 10-7 at halftime.
Blyde added her second in the opening minute of the second half and Ruby Tui clinched the win in the 10th minute to go up 24-7, before two late tries for Ireland closed the gap.
New Zealand will face pool opponents Russia again in the last eight at 6pm, Friday (NZT).
Other cup quarter-finals are USA vs France, England vs Australia and Canada vs Ireland.
The Black Ferns Sevens are without star player Portia Woodman, who ruptered her Achilles tendon at training earlier this month.
